Be Blessed.

Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity (Love), I am become as a sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vauneth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seekth not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth.

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is (Love) charity.

Why is John Mccain complaining?

Why is John Mccain now complaining abot Barack going to Iraq when he was the one who dared him to go over there?

Is it because he is looking to Presidential?

You get what you ask for! Embarassed

No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.

Tippy, you KNOW why he is unhappy.

For the rest of you......

McCain made 8....EIGHT fact finding tours over there. NOT ONE TIME did the anchors of all 3 major networks even ask to go with him; as they've done with Obama. They've even flown there on the same aircraft chartered by Obama!

McCain spoke with Generals, soldiers and people of Iraq He met with officials from Afghanistan ....all the same stuff Obama is finally doing & with NO photo opps and phony "exclusive" interviews (how can you give an exclusive to ABC today when NBC will ask the same things tomorrow in their 'exclusive' tomorrow and CBS the following day).

Now what we'll see in Obama campaign ads in footage (from the networks...pretty cool they pick up the tabs for the videographer, equipment & tape) footage shot over there.

Doesn't anyone else wonder about the so called 'Fairness Doctrine'?

We're seeing campaign commercials every night being spoon fed to us under the guise of a news story.

We're letting the news media....we're abdicating our most sacred right.....promote ONE particular candidate.

Frankly folks, that scares the hell out of me....we've become so lazy...pretty soon we're going to see Brian Williams wearing a Band Aid Plastic Strip over a cut on his cheek & hearing how it is so comfortable as he reads the news.

Okay, lets play.

Specifically, what in that last answer can you possibly disagree with?

Did the anchors not fly on Obama's chartered plane?

Are they not treating him (to use your words) like a rock star?

Are we not seeing puff pieces on the networks about him? (by the way on the 3 networks this month alone Obama has had 126 minutes of stories compared to 68 for McCain....Media Research Group an independent media watch dog group...in response NBC said it was, according to their research 123 to 67)

Did the networks not cover McCain? Not did they not cover him as they are covering Obama...the question as stated is....did they not cover McCain?

Is Obama not meeting with the same people (essentially) as McCain?

Tell me, what is incorrect about those statements?

Fredst,

It's true that Obama is getting a lot of coverage. As aformer newsperson yourself you know that it is because Obama makes better news.

Of course the media is going after the better story.

Obama is News!!!!

Oh come on now.

Your naivete' is showing.

The media is MAKING THE NEWS.

Yes, I was in the media THAT is EXACTLY how I KNOW this to be true!

The media WANTS Obama to be President. Think of the headllines. If you think it was cool when he, the first black man, clinched his party's nomination honey, you aint seen nothing yet.

We will see so many "aren't we enlightened...", "We've come so far" stories it will require a National dose of Tums!

WHY do you refuse to see the media is MAKING the story and not REPORTING the story.

I'm going to have lunch and a couple of beers. The frustration level is too high.

Hi Fredst,

Regardless of who's making the news or reporting the news, the Obama train is leaving the station. There is still room for one more.

Hope you had a great lunch.Smile

Hot wings & COLD beer.......YES!!!!!!!!

as an ex member of the news media I loathe slanted news. You seem quite content to allow the news media to make the news. I am not. Their job is to REPORT the news not to stage or manufacture it.

Oh come on Fredst! You being an ex-newsman, You and I both know, that is how they make their money. Everybody's trying to be the first one to break that big story and become newsman of the year. Everbody wants a shot at the emmy. As long as there is a big story out there, the news is going to be slanted. Obama just happens to be news at the present time.

I am quite content with my decision to support Obama however, I could care less about the media.Laughing

Sounds like you had a great lunch.Smile
