I hope that I am not reading this the wrong way, but please correct me if I am. Technically, since your ancestors are from Poland, you are Polish, and a Polish Jew at that. However, the way that I have interpreted what you have written, is that your Jewish faith and connection, is stronger and more of your identity, than your Polish one. Thus, you consider yourself to be more Jewish, than Polish. This is not uncommon, as there are a lot of Jews, who consider themselves in their identities as Jewish, before Eastern European. All you just need to explain to your husband that you have a stronger connection to your Jewish roots, than to your Polish roots.
