J.K.Rowling in a Law Suit Against Fans

Why does J.K.Rowling insist on going against her fans?

Doesn't she realize it's the fans who gave her all this fame and fortune? Harry Potter wouldn't have been what he became without the fans.

Just because you've got the emotional range of a teaspoon doesn't mean we all have

Of course she understands it!

It doesn't mean anyone who wants to should be allowed to steak her ideas and story lines or character, and try to make an extra buck off her hard work.

No true fan would have acted this way, and I am sure that many will buy this book believing she has okayed it, while it's not true.

She is not suing all of her fans, I mean, when I was reading her books it's not as if I did it from some kind motive to make JK Rowling famous and rich, I did it because she write great books that I wanted to read.
Buying her books or reading them give me the right to do just that - buy and read the books - it doesn't mean I'm allowed to use the material in them to produce similar books and make money by selling them.

I'm an artist and if I find someone's been copying  my work, I'd be very upset and might consider a law suite, whether it's done from admiration or greediness is beside the point.

I agree with her - the contents of the book are, and should remain, her property. Why should someone else reap the profits? She hasn't taken any action against the website that the book is based upon - that is the fan domain.
