Eric-
I live near Winston-Salem, NC. I have well water at my 12 year old home I am guessing the mineral content in the water is high. I have problems with a blue/green staining around faucets, where water drips in tubs and sinks. I also believe that this high mineral content in the water has contributed to corrosion in the metal joints used in connecting the water lines in the walls. I have had several major water leaks in the walls throughout the house. The plumbers have shown me the metal fittings, and they have had a good bit of this blue/green staining on the metal fitting that failed.
#1 - Is there a cost effective way to filter these minerals for the whole house? I've had people to warn me about whole house filter systems due to the costs and the fact that they usually really don't work.
#2 - How do I clean the staining from around a kitchen faucet where the faucet connects into the countertop?
#3 - Also, how can I clean the build up of what I am guessing is mineral deposits that form at the water level in the toilet bowl?
Thanks for you help......Sharyn - - my email address is shanobbie@aol.com
