A shuk is an outdoor market. My family has lived in the area where the outdoor market has been since before the establishment of Israel in 1948. It's so much fun to wake up every morning to the hustle and bustle of people making an honest living selling the most basic necessities.
delisha106, Your answer/comment is much appreciated. There is so very much I have to learn about Isralie life. Is the weather good enough for the outdoor market to run year round? Where I live, we adore our outdoor markets, but ours cannot last past October 31 because of the weather.
