The article states that what the Palestinians do or do not do does not affect what Israel should do. If Palestinians continue the conflict-teaching hate, commiting terrorist acts, not recognizing that Israel is a Jewish State (while Israelis have now acknowledged that there should be a Palestinian State), why should Israelis put their lives on hold? If Palestinians never accept Israel then Israel should not be forced to stop expanding settlements based on a hope. Indeed continuing settlement activity should encourage and motivate the Palestinians to actually come to the table in a meaningful way.
