We Americans have long fought to keep our Fredom of Expression. We burn our own flag and sling some very disrespectful insults at our officials when we disagree with them, do we not?  In throwing those shoes he was not inflicting great bodily harm on our President, he was making a public statement.  Let the punishment equal the crime.  Give him a swift kick in the rear and let him live in a Democracy to reflect and perhaps teach what he may learn to the people that praised his action. We seem to learn best by our mistakes, do we not?

Well Pres. Bush was protecting morons like him so he would be able to do that.  He now must take his punishment that is well deserved. He wants his Country let him have it.  He should be made to take whatever they give out.....lol   They all deserve what they get and we should mind our own business.  We were crucified for not intervening with Hitler, now we are told we should but out.  Saddam was the same as Hitler but we are now looked down upon for saving the lives of who knows how many people from that tyrant and his crazy sons.

Considering what Bush did to his country and people to get at their oil I think he showed great restraint, I'm sure most of the world is only sorry that he didn't hit Bush. It sure would be nicer than the torture W supported.

After we pull out, and democracy begins to fail, and Iraq reverts to being more like its former lawless self, he will be hailed as a pioneering hero for having the "guts" to stand up to the American president. Maybe he will get a statue too some day, who knows. At this point though he doesn't qualify for the virgins. Darn ....

Just another thuggish “reporter” hiding behind his press credentials for his criminal behavior.

If Bush hadn't run Saddam out, the guy would never have thought about throwing a shoe at a government official.   If Saddam were still in power, he wouldn't have been at the press conference, and he would have been to scared for his life to throw the shoe.  Had he thrown the shoe he would have been killed on the spot.  Our soldiers are giving their lives so he can throw a shoe at the leader of the country that allowed him to have those freedoms.   He's a moron.  Deserves whatever he gets.

Meeting on Openness Closed to Public

It's hardly the image of transparency the Obama administration wants to project: A workshop on government openness is closed to the public.
