Iran's nuclear program

I'm worried that the US might attack Iran.  On the other hand, I'm concerned that Iran might develop nuclear weapons.

What is the evidence that Iran's nuclear program is for military purposes?  What is the evidence that it's for peaceful purposes?  And, if it's military, how long do experts say it would take for Iran to get a nuclear weapon?

Of course, I don't expect a complete answer.  (A lengthy report might be needed to tell the full story!)  But any information you can provide would help me figure out whether the Bush administration has a case for invading Iran.

There's no hard evidence for Iran's purpose to develop nuclear capability for military action. They say it's for peaceful purposes and simultaneously they do the army parades, say they will destroy Israel and blame the USA for everything that is wrong in the world. Furthermore if you psychologically evaluate Ahmadinigad you'd see that he's well disturbed and would be capable of mess distraction.

Experts say that it might take Iran 10 years to fully develop nuclear weapon but some say that a couple of years will do.

Say what you want about President Bush, but I doubt he is dumb enough to engage us into another war. But that doesn't mean we should pay attention to Iran. Iran sits on the second largest oil reserve on the planet, so why they need Nuke power is a good question. Also, if it is for peaceful purposes why use the heavy water reactors? You could use light water reactors, and then there would be no concern about nuclear proliferation.

The USA is not at a position of strength in this argument. But Iran is not trustworthy. Plus their rhetoric regarding the USA and Israel is troubling. The best course of action is the one we are taking, i.e. sanctions and international pressure.
