Internet service w/out cable or landline options

No, you cannot get dial-up internet service without a working phone line.  You can order internet service through the cable company without changing to cable TV, or you can get broadband or FIOS service through a phone company like Verizon.  The only other option I can think of is, if you have a laptop, you could get a broadband card (which requires a separate monthly data service) through your mobile phone company.

You can get a cellular modem - it's a little usb device that connect to your computer and allow you to use the internet from anywhere. Ask your cellular phone provider about it.

The good thing about it is nice coverage and being able to connect it to a lap top and surf from wherever you want. However, most companies to limit the amount of information you can download, which means that if you plan to watch movies or download a lot of music or send a lot of very heavy files, this will get very expensive.

I'm with verison, I have one of those for my lap top and I think I pay 59$ a month.

Also, we have cable internet in the apartment, and don't have cable TV (or any TV for that matter) you don't have to be connected to cable TV to have cable internet.

Satellite internet service?

My friend who does not have a landline was able to get the internet for her laptop through Verizon. She doesn't have cable. They sent a wireless router and she has internet access through her cell phone. Give them a call.
