How do you get rid of the error message that says, internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close..I have done the tools/advance/uncheck the  box for display a notification about every script error, check the box, disable script debugging/ click ok. As soon as i try to exit explorer, the error message re-appears. I have explorer 7, not the beta version. What can i do? Very serious technical answer required, john

There are numerous things that may lead Internet Explorer to crash and give you that sort of error.

Does the problem always happen in the same site or in different ones on random?

If the problem is not on a specific site, it may well be a plug-in that you have installed (willingly or not - it might be a spyware) that is causing that.

If you use extensions of any kind that may cause that you can run IE with the "No Add-ons" option which will load it without all the various add-ons installed.

Try doing what is written on this blog's comment  (if it doesn't help, try to read the whole blog post).

just go to tools internet options and click advanced tab , disable scipt debugging and make sure internet explorer and other one are both checked . click apply restart comp . If that doesnt work , go to start , run and type in msconfig and click  startup and make sure everything is not checked click apply and it will restart . if that dont help ..... go to start run type in cmd in the command promp ( black window) type in sfc/scannow and it will make sure all your windows files are intact in the origional form ... it may ask to put ur windows cs in , if it does put it in and when the window screen comes up click exit . it iwll still do the check . it takes a while follow directions and youll be all set .

I'm with sunshinetrex on this one.  Over the years I went from AOL to to IE6 to IE7 and finally to Mozilla Firefox.  I don't have any problems with Firefox.

Thank you for your answer. I resolved that issue with the new internet explorer 8 RC1 version and I have downloaded the new Windows 7 Beta with IE8, but find I to must use Fire Fox 3 by Monzilla. IE8 is still somewhat unstable in the Beta pack, but Monzilla works perfectly. Thank you again, John
