There are numerous things that may lead Internet Explorer to crash and give you that sort of error.

Does the problem always happen in the same site or in different ones on random?

If the problem is not on a specific site, it may well be a plug-in that you have installed (willingly or not - it might be a spyware) that is causing that.

If you use extensions of any kind that may cause that you can run IE with the "No Add-ons" option which will load it without all the various add-ons installed.

Try doing what is written on this blog's comment  (if it doesn't help, try to read the whole blog post).

Uninstalling and Reinstalling Google toolbar worked for me.  Otherwise, go through your add-ins (Tools - Manage AddIns) and disable them one by one until you find the culprit.

yes there would be a problem with the plug-ins installed just like you are upgrading your (IE) Internet Explorer into IE 7. So all you need to do just uninstall the IE 7 then restart your computer then install it again the IE 7 because the first one install there are missing plug-ins that IE cannot resolved it and cannot find it by running the IE. In my case it was NORTON CONFIDENTIAL BROWSER HELPER OBJECT add-in that was causing the problem. After disabling it I had no further problems.
