I don't think its wise to upgrade to IE 8 yet. Since the number of bugs encountered by users is increasing. If your just using your browser just to surf the net then you can upgrade. But if your using the browser for development then it's not worth it.

Well that was the purpose of question, I have win xp with automatic updates from microsoft , updates of inportance. Some are done automaticly downloaded to my pc. while others are sent via e mail. I been hearing controversy over it pros and cons. Microsoft advises IE 8 offers more secure and better feter features and safe guards. while other s who dont say what system they have had trould with it. I uderstand IE 8 neen out now for few months. I have read persons with vista have had problemswith IE ver 8. while other not. and thoese with win xp seem happy with it. Bottom line Microsoft should not release it if it can cause problems with pc. and thoese I read try to undo the IE 8 and restore back to ver 7 have had major problems.. Ahain they had vista , and vista is a problem in intself, as many are not happy with vista. in fact many newer pc gone back to win xp Acer got cool pc and they  wont use vist in there ppular netbook 160 gig h/d  1 gig ram seeling all over place. in vlors blue red white brown black,  I will stay with IE ver 8 seems working ok. and especilly after checking with some website on this matter. the worst thing to do based on post of persons who tried to uninstll or convert back to ver 7 have had massive problems , but then again they had vist. so there problems are already started ver 8 may not work well with the tribled vista, I know several people  who since got vista pc not working right.  for now IE  8 working fine, But if encounter problems. I will be sure to take it up with microsoft who advised me to install it as ver 8 far superior then ber 7 and is more upto date with security protection for win xp. Time will tell . But I thank you for taking time to replie to my question.

If you want to go back to IE7 then you can do so by using the change/remove option from the control panel. if unable you can use system restore to restore your system to a date previous to the one you have installed IE8 - for this follow : Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore. But my advice is you are just cracking your head upon an unnecessary thing - does it really matter which browser you are using? Moreover it takes some time to get used to a new thing so have patience and you will get used to IE8. I hope my answer will helps you. Well you need to re-install windows xp to get it out from there. I think it is better because it has a lot of more safe things for browsing the web. If you need to install it install it from http://www.microsoft.com Then click windows then all windows products the internet explorer.

If you have applied the sp3 service pack, then you will not be able to uninstall IE8

If running on SP2, then uninstall is possible

So look before ya leap   Cry

I believe that got autp is better than ver 8

I say that each icon should be so much better then 7
