Instant messaging

Do you know of any Instant messenger program that has the look of msn messenger that work for a LAN without the need for an internet conection or any that do both things? I'd also appreciate any help on how to configure it

Most of the LAN messengers aren't free, but here are some free ones for you to try. The list is sorted by users' ratings:

There are a lot of good IM programs for LAN that doesn't require an internet connection. The best one (and also award winning) for my opinion is the Outlook IM because it has the best options of communication in the office.

Thanks Tiano, this software seems to be very good.

But you also said "There are a lot of good IM programs for LAN that doesn't require an internet connection". I suppose you have tried other programs, I'd like to know if you could tell me about others, especially if they are free
