Better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and remove all doubt ...

That's a good question Aran,

the answer is Feeds. I use my feeds to keep up to date and monitor what is going on - there is often more than an opportunity to join the discussion or give another point of view in a post

"Even the most ordinary man can make a difference, he just has to believe he can."

Hello Aran: The sources are as vast as the stars in the skies.

You have to get use to training your ear and eyes to pickup on things;  to have a sensitivity to perception - to distinctions and  - to the human emotions. The more you attempt to write the easier this will become.

Everything about you can be a potential story or article to be told - a creative tale to be woven - a truth to be projected.  Ideas can come from a word, a statement, a situation, a visual.

Situations in time can project an idea: attention grabbers...something that does and doesn't make sense...differences between things. . . strengths and weakness of an idea...arguments for and against.

Make a difference with your writing - dry a tear - bring laughter to the world - open the thought process of debate.  Don't write about generalities.  Write about things you believe are of popular interest, that are challenging, informative; uplifting.

Well written material comes from deep inside - the passion you feel for a topic - what you are familiar with - what entices, what upsets; what gets the juices flowing and the computer buzzing.

Develop a system to keep key words of what intrigues you.  This is where you want to start. That doesn't mean you will use it now.  You will have it when your subconscious says you are ready. And when that happens you will know what you want to pen.

Remember:  The more you write, the easier it will be to come up with a subject and a slant.  Anyone can write. . .but it takes a trained writer to come up with the magic of words and a slanted topic that separates from the norm.

You may want to review: Writing-World.com. The site is a plethora of information that will enhance a writer's understanding of what the art of writing is.
