Sorry, but, as a Christian...I was taught that God put humans in charge of all other creatures on Earth (animals and plants) and that He created all creatures separate from each other without using any part of one to create another. So, because I believe that God put humans in charge of all of creation and that he put both animals and plants into subjection to us...animals are inferior to us. I agree with you on one point: world peace would be nice.

I can't (and ain't gonna) say what other people believe (even other Christians). However, every church that I've gone to personally teaches that God put humans in charge of all creation and put all animals and plants into subjection to us. That don't give us the right to mistreat or abuse animals just because they're subservent to humans and our desires and needs. While they ain't got the same mental capacity as humans... they can feel pain and (I'd like to think) some emotions too. Also, just because we're in charge of the entire Earth...that don't give us the right to misuse the natural resources nor does it give us the right to destroy our environment by polluting the air, water and ground. I am an extremely devout Christian and I'm also a huge environmentalist. I feel like that because I'm a Christian...I must therefore be an environmentalist as well because the Christianity that I was taught has taught me that Christians are supposed to be good "stewards" of the Earth that God has given us to live on.

The only way that nothing is impossible is with God. God Can do anything that He wants and because he created everything...nothing is impossible for Him. For we finite humans on the other hand....we are extremely limited in what we can do. There's even a lot that our technology fails to allow us to do. Basically, God has determined what humans are able to do (and when) and until/unless He decides to allow us to do something other than what we can currently do....every time we try to do what He don't allow...we fail. I ain't saying that we shouldn't try to reach the limit(s) of what we're able to do, but, we shouldn't try to go beyond them.

You're right, we can have different beliefs and still be friends. The only people that I won't be friends with (simply because of their beliefs) are Satanists. I don't/can't get along with people who willingly choose to serve Satan.
