I'm an American and I'm a Jew and if I had been around in the 1940's I would have wanted all of the displaced Jews from Europe to come to the United States instead of going to Israel. I would not have supported the formation of the state of Israel, Now Israel is a fact, and the clock can't be turned back. Israelis have a right to defend themselves. The treatment of the Palestinians is shameful: I read about groups of vigilantes breaking up mixed arab/Jewish couples. This is nazi-level stuff, people. I don't approve of Jews being involved in such behavior. So what to do? It seems to be that there are a number of good solutions. My favorite is to annex Israel as a state of the United States. None of this religious state nonsense: the holy places of the various religions will be administered by the various churches (Jewish, Christian and Muslim), none of which should be an official state religion or in any way supported by the government.
