Make at least 15 copies of the death certificate  and within 30 days you should send copies to creditors, the IRS, Social  Security, the insurance company, the broker, and credit card companies. To  spare yourself the continuous pain of seeing the deceased's name in print, also  contact any companies that are still sending bills in his or her name.
