i agree some what with what Elden wrote, however as you wrote about your 22 year old daughter,katmoon, her life is indeed ruined. Elden writes maybe her records can be sealed. i don't think so, since she is not under aged, she is a grown adult woman, and once she is a registered sex offender she will always be registered as such for life! not 20 years,life! that is the way the law is for sex offenders in every state in the USA. i feel sorry for the family of this 14 year old boy. they are the true victims here,sadly. i know first hand what drugs play a huge role in what the drug addicts do & don't do & how it literally tears apart their family to no end, so i can sympathize with you as a parent, and i know what your going through as well, my middle daughter is a drug addict as well. not heroine but everything else you can think of.and she didn't stop doing her drugs when she purposely set out to get pregnant with her unborn child who we are raising. she did drugs the entire nine months all day and all night. she still hasn't stopped. anyways, like i said, i know what your going through and feeling on the drug addiction aspect of this situation. i did notice you stated that when your daughter was a teenager she too was a victim by a family member and strangers on that i must ask did you seek out help/counseling for your daughter back then in order to deal with and cope with what she had went through so she could realize it wasn't her fault and to help her move on in life as a healthy productive adult as much as possible? i ask, only because you didn't mention anything about that in your posting/question,here. as for getting your daughter help? i don't know what state your from, but in my state you can go to any court, and do whats called "section 35" her. in case your not sure what that means ...it is you petitioning the courts before a judge to have a judge order her to be forced into rehab for a minimum of 30-35 days and nights straight. the police will be made aware in their computer system so if they see her or she is arrested or anything ...the police will know by doing a computer check on these things and then it will come up on police computer (any & all police in your state) and she will be brought into rehab right there and then on the spot. then you will be notified of it either by police, hospital or rehab center,to let you know. you can keep on doing this over and over every month if need be and any court and judge will order it & the state will cover the costs. so go to your local court house and ask about this and if its called the samething or if not then what is it called so you will know. section 35. your daughter needs alot of time and intense rehab & detox with being addicted to especially heroine! good luck to you kitmoon i hope i have been of help to you in someway. oh, and also keep in mind, you cannot help those whom do not want to help themselves. true fact. but you can do what i said through court and you can be less stressed out & feel safe knowing she cant leave & be out on the streets at all hours & days, weeks at a time not knowing if she is alright or not. ok? again, good luck & best wishes to you. :0)
