I have never heard of any positive benefits to indoor tanning besides getting tanned.  It's not the smartest thing to do.  It's pretty much cancer in a box.  It's very unhealthy.

These guys claim all the things we thought we knew about tanning beds are myths.

Bear in mind they're selling these beds, so it stands to reason they would be interested in selling you the idea that they're safe.I wouldn't use a tanning bed..
