Independent Party

Don't you thnk a third party would act as an honest broker and force the other two parties to get their support on any bill/law and, thereby, what is best for the American people would evolve?  An analogy would be two people arguing and a third person enters the picture and either sides with the one most correct or convinces the other two parties to another mutually agreeable solution.  Independent voters are on the rise.  What is needed is some person or organization financially strong enough to get it off the ground.  What say you?

There is no way to happiness... Happiness is the WAY!

Daney: Very interesting question. I have been hearing that we need a 3rd party. People are just fed up with Congress and the bickering and they just don't care about the American people. This right, left  wing etc. crap is crazy! We have too much government now, a 3rd party will just make it bigger, do we want that NO! We need committees of the average American people to set them straight and guide them along the path of truth. People are just fed up with Health Care bickering that we just want them to shut-up and work on something else, until we vote some new members in.

"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, Establish Justice,; insure domestic Tranquility, to provide for the common defense, to promote the general Welare, and to Secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and to our Posterity, do ordain and establish the Constitution of the United States of America.

Dear Col., I am not sure that you are directing your question to me, as I did call for a third political party to be formed. But if you did, Ross Perot tried it and almost succeded, but never truly "got the cigar." However, the President has limited Constitutional authority. He can sign bills send to him by the Legislature, but he cannot make bills. The House can allocate money for the bills that the Senate passes, but I don't believe that they have the authority to unilaterally make such decisions without the Senate and visa versa. To me, it means that not only will a third party candidate be able to win, but with their coattails sweep in the Congresss and the Senate to hope to have anything passed of meanful importance. Did the best I could, and I hope that, if you were addressing me, that I have answered your question. Michael Joel Held

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.

Good idea but it will never work. Every time there has been a serious third party candidate, he has just split the vote and has caused more problems and turmoil. We have to get rid of the Electoral College first.
