Ideas to design a wedding ring yourself?

I'm looking for advice and tips that help you design a wedding ring yourself. What are the best metals to use, general advice on how to go about it etc.

Note: I'm not talking about making my own wedding ring, just designing the wedding ring and then getting a jeweler to manufacture it.

Appreciate any links you can give to good wedding ring design websites,

You can visit design a wedding ring yourself , there you will find information about the advantages and disadvantages of the different metals and colors. And also things to consider for your design - getting the size correct, matching the engagement ring  (for the bride) etc.

You will also find info to prepare and confirm with the jeweler.

Wedding Rings Forever offers a great design service that allows you to do something as simple as drawing a sketch on a piece of paper, emailing it to them, and having them do the hard work by emailing you back possible scenarios of the finished ring. Platinum is the best there is, but by far the most expensive and more difficult to work with than gold. Gold is timeless and will never go wrong. There are also new materials like tungsten carbide wedding bands, but these are extremely difficult to work with because of their hardness, however, also extremely scratch resistant. Talk to or email Wade (wade@weddingringsforever.com) and he'll take care of you. He beat the price I got from the mall by over half.

To actually see some custom bands a custom ring manufacturer try Wedding Rings Forever . They also publish a very helpful blog that is educational about design and metals called Wedding Rings Info .

Find a location near you that has jewelers at the store so they can do the custom work. Go there with a budget and some ideas, and then they should be able to guide you through it. It's always good to know the

History of wedding rings and traditions so you can know if it's exactly what you are looking for.
