Ice maker doesn't make ice

I have an Admiral

HMG 62165 21.5 cu. ft. side by side refrigerator/ freezer and the ice maker is not making ice.
The temp is fine in both the fridge & freezer.
The water will still flow through the outside of the freezer door but the icemaker is not making any ice.
Is there something I can do before calling a repair man?

I think it's time to call a repair man. Sorry but It doesn't sound like something that a suggestion would solve.

I'd probably start by calling the local appliance mart that carries the brand of the appliance or company that makes the appliance.

The water line that feeds your refridgerator hooks into a float valve, dual valve in your case. It sounds like the float that feeds the ice maker is probably stuck. There is a part no. located on the face of the part- it should run you about $50 and is usually only fastened by 2 screws. It's a simple change out.

 Although you should also consider that it may be your ice maker. The ice maker sends a signal to the float valve, if its not sending that signal the valve could be fine and you wont know until you change one of them. Ice makers run around $100 so the cheapest way to check is to buy the $50 float valve. If that doenst do it, its the ice maker itself.
