Since I make the stupid decision to download the supposedly "new and improved" aol software for Mac (AOL Desktop for Mac, 1.1), I can no longer open my older AOL for Mac X software; when I try it says "AOL can not be opened".
This happens on BOTH my Mac Laptop and my Mac Desktop (both running Leopard) and started ONLY AFTER I stupidly downloaded the alleged "new and improved" AOL DESKTOP for Mac 1.0 and 1.1 recently.
On the alleged "new and improved" I lost access to the AOL CHAT ROOMS (forget the AIM chat rooms; I can get to them but I hate them and want to get back to the rooms I have visited for over 10 years now).
HOW CAN I GET TO THE OLD AOL CHAT ROOMS?
I saw something from one AOL advisor saying that those chat rooms are NOT available to mac users who are NOW (corrected edit "not" to "NOW") using the latest aol software (i.e. "AOL Desktop for Mac"]. Is this true? (How stupid of aol if so).
Does that mean I need to do what I attempted to do: Get back onto the older software (i.e. "AOL for MAC X")? If so, how do I overcome the problem on BOTH COMPUTERS that when I try opening the old software I get that message: "AOL can not be opened"?
I read some mac advisor stuff on some bulletin board said that we can RUN both PROGRAMS ... but it is not letting me do that! So, I am left wondering if I should jettison the NEW (but not "improved") AOL DESKTOP for MAC in order to go back to the good ole days/software (maybe I could open it if I get rid of the New AOL software????
Thanks; any and all help/suggestions on this will be greatly appreciated.
