If left untreated, does hypothyroidism (I think that's the right name for low thyroid) have any long term effects?
Yes My sister has hyperthyroid she lost vision in on eye and nearly had a heart attack. She even pasted out there are things you should avoid that could lead to death. Get it checked on and treated. My sister waited so long she had to go through chemo to get control.
Thanks for this info. How old is your sister, and how long did she go untreated before she started having problems?
She just turned 38 and all this things happen in a span of 3 years.
She had chemo in 2000 she was 30 and had already lost sight in her right eye which if permantly blind.
