I think the English name for Hummus is "Chick Peas" (I am not entirely sure). It is very popular in the mediterranian countries. It grows right now (April - May), very similar to green peas it is dried and can be kept, in that way, for very long periods (like beens). It's very tasty and very healthy (contains Fe [iron] and other good neutritions). It is served with pickled + fresh vegetables, olives, and olive oil. Best when it is served right after preparing it (still warm). Many recepies. Yammy !!!!.

A plate of Hummus + vegies + pickles with a Pita bread is a meal.... you don't normally need more.... specially if you do it yourself or buy at the right place.
