I have a 2006 Subaru Forester. At higway sppeds, there is a sporadic vibration (humming) that occurs. It seems like it is coming from behind the dash, but it may be coming from under the hood. It comes and goes and is quite annoying. Any ideas?
Open up the hood and check at the edges to see if there are any leaves or any sort of debris caught in there. Anything loose that catches wind and flaps around would cause the humming. Check the simple things before bringing it anywhere.

Could it maybe just be inside the vents? I once had a leaf stuck inside mine that did the same thing. Otherwise, not sure what else to try. sorry.

check it at diffrent speeds and see if it comes and goes at any speed point, this may be a belt in the tires shifting and making a vidration and noise and it will go away as the speed dropes under that throshold, so check you tires first than see at what speed it comes and what speed it goes away, good luck
Thanks, That is a good thing to check
