I received my humidor and calibrated the hygrometer. It went from 60 to 80+ after about 10 hrs. As per the directions I did all it tells me to do. 6 days later the hygrometer reads 62%. Does it take that long to break in the humidor?

Did you place cigars in the humidor already? Placing dry cigars in the humidor will absorb the humidity and drop the level. Simply place more distilled water in the humidifier and you should be good to go. If you have not placed cigars inside the humidor then fill the humidifier again as the wood may have been dry and sucked up all the water. It will eventually reach stability. Just make sure that you do not over-humidify the cigars. Wet cigars burn poorly and will have a slightly bitter taste.
