Honda Pilot seat Fabric Staining

I have a 6 month old 2008 Honda Pilot VP (value package) with fabric seats that are showing visible staining from body moisture wicking through our clothing much like underarm staining on a shirt or blouse.  I've never seen anything like this in all my years of auto-ownership.  Niether my wife or I sweat particularly all that much and the stains are occuring on both the passenger seat where she sits and the driver' seat where I predominantly reside.  Given that we both presumably have different body chemistries and PH's, the problem seems to be ubiquitous.  Has anyone else experienced this or are we simply not bathing enough?

i have had the same thing happen with my 06 pilot.  Even if water condensation drops on them they leave a mark.  I presented this to my local dealer, who had me meet with the regional guy.  I found others on the internet sharing this problem and presented all my findings to them on paper.  they laughed and said they have never had any complaints and to take it up with corporate.  I did and they did NOTHING.  i turn in my lease in 2 months and the seats are HORRIBLE looking.  I have owned hondas since 1989 and NEVER once made a complaint.  The fabric is faulty and they know it.

I own a 2008 honda pilot and yes, the fabric must be faulty. Any liquid that comes into contact with the fabric will leave a stain. We've had it for less than a year and I already have stains all over the driver and passenger seat. It's ridiculous. Under our warranty they guaranteed that they would remove any stains on the upholstery as long as the stains weren't from bleach and a couple other things. If the stains did not come out, then they would replace the fabric, no charge. I actually took it in today to get it cleaned. Guess we'll see what happens....

I had the same problem. I took my car to a local detail shop and the owner told me to use a product from the dollar store called Awesome. He also told me to clean the entire seat not just the stained section. It turned out beautifully! Now I keep it on hand and I sit on a small towel.

Hope I could help!

I also have an 08 Pilot and have been battling water stains constantly. I have a light tan interior--so the stains show particularly well. I clean it with a very damp cloth with oxyclean sprayed onto it and saturate the entire seat. The stains go away, but this is very labor intensive (especially with 3 kids constantly dropping things!) I am fed up and will complain to the dealership, tho from what people have written, I don't expect much. I think the only solution will be to buy seat covers. They are very expensive $140-250 range. Some look very functional--they let the 2nd row fold up. Any experience with these covers?

Of an '08 Honda Pilot. Overall: I am impressed. The Pilot is a well rounded vehicle that has just used tranny who smokes a carton of cigs a day compared to the Honda V6 in the Pilot. As it does have space is awkward for people 6' up - the same way it is in the Odyssey and many other Hondas - seats
