Hi

its an easy thing to do. However, if you like the ready made taste......

 1 Can Tomato Paste

1/4 cup water

1/4 cup brown sugar (the darker one)

1/2 teas salt

dushcinnamon

2 tabs vinegar

Mix together, cover and refrigerate. If u want more spicy add some chilies.

should you want to make it from fresh tomatoes, cut tomatoes into little pieces, boil them down, run the juice through a sieve, and then add the rest of the ingredients.

 take care

The country western ketchup (recipe in here), is more unique than then the regular. But it's better to buy the regular and improve it with a few ingredients from there.

The good thing about homemade ketchup is that you can add your own spiciness to it. I love mine spicy , the spicy ketchups at the stores are not suitable for me. I would recommend either chillies like lior8 said or some Tabasco . Don't forget you control the taste of your ketchup which is all the fun in making one at home.
