Do you know of a treatment or some home remedies for hemorrhoid relief?

I'm pretty certain I have hemorrhoids, any ideas on what I can do for treatment?

Perhaps you know a diet, cure or some home remedies?

Thanks

Hemorrhoids are usually caused by excessive strain during bowel movements and stools which are too hard.

These are some home remedies for hemorrhoid relief :

- Try reduce swelling and bring a little relief with ice packs placed for 5-10 minutes at a time.

- Instead of normal toilet paper rather use medicated pads or damp tissues. Don't wipe but pat the area.

- Buy some stool softening pills (maybe Senna) from the herbalist or pharmacy (Proctesydyl or its generic - Soove it) these will help relieve the bowel movements.

- You need to change your diet and eat more fiber - whole grains, fruits, vegetables and stay away from processed foods.

- Wear loose fitting clothing and cotton underwear

Many suggest surgery offers permanent relief from hemorrhoids, but hemorrhoids are notorious for reocurring and surgery can be a very painful process.

OK, you must eat high fibre foods and don't strain. If nothing happens, leave it for the time being. You can use non prescription creams to ease itching and pain - prep H.

Take long hot baths and throw in some Epsom salts or Baking Soda - soak for a good 30 minutes.

Buy a donut pillow for sitting and a cookbook for healthy fiber based recipe ideas. Oh, and don't worry about Anusol...waste of time.

You might not be enthousiastic about the idea, but you can get medical treatment. They can be injected with something that makes them go away.

Sounds awful, but it's quite painless and effective.

Your direction, not your intention, determines your destination

You're closing the question? I have a remedy that everyone seems to use. You heard of Tuck's pads? Make your own without the expense, Make a fold of several sheets of toilet tissue, and put Witch Hazel on it, then pat your hemorrhoid with it. Witch Hazel is the soothing ingredient in Tuck's.Buy a bottle in grocery stores or pharmacy and costs about $2.00 and lasts for a month or two. Tuck's costs over $6.00 . That will give you a sign of relief by itself.

If the hemorrhoids are only bleeding slightly, then apply an ice pack wrapped on towel directly to your hemorrhoids. If you have aloe vera, try putting some on the affected area, this can also stop the bleeding.
