Should the word 'Holocaust' be written with a capital H or lower case? I have encountered both ways of writing, and wondered if there's any standard at all.
If you are referring to the "Holocaust", used to describe the mass killing by the Nazi regime during WWII then the word should be capitalized because it is a specific event in history. However, if you are using the word holocaust to describe general catastrophes or mass genocides then it should not be capitalized.
