Answer 3 out of 3

A:

During the 50's thru 80's Palm Springs,Ca. was the place where Hollywood's stars would visit. Lounging around the hotel pools, working on their golden tans and playing golf and tennis in the desert's fresh air. Then at night the stars would be seen in downtown Palm Springs partying in the local clubs. Then came the 60's. College students started visiting Palm Springs during their spring vacation break, to do what Hollywood's elite were doing. Many students headed for the canyons of Palm Spring to cool off in the creeks and waterfalls hidden beyond the canyon walls. Partying from noon to late night the 70's had the spring breakers cruising the main strip in downtown Palm Springs on Palm Canyon Drive. Socializing with other college students visiting from around the country the guys and girls would lounge around the pools during the day soaking in the sun or visiting the shops on the strip. The guys would find fun partying activities to keep busy while cooling off in the pools and the girls that had any sense of fun joined the dudes in the pool. At night downtown Palm Canyon Drive's main strip was full of cruising cars and spring break pedestrians going out for dinner and entertainment or just walking on the strip meeting new people and enjoying the night life. The 80's was much of the same but now Palm Springs was a well known place to party during spring break. Over crowded hotels and downtown side walks made things hectic for the locals. The city did what it needed to do to discourage unwelcomed spring breakers that were causing to many problems for the city,it's businesses and those spring breakers that were here just to have a good time. The spring break tradition disappeared after the 80's and things moved to south of the border and Lake Havasu, Arizona for break time fun.
