Oh, good grief, don't you know that Hinduism is the monotheistic religion of all monotheistic religions? The various "gods" are all facets of one Divinity manifested in all forms allowing us to choose whatever form is needed at the moment. Krishna is one or those forms, but by no means the only one. For example, if overcoming obstacles is the current issue, one prays to Lord Ganesh; but he is simply an aspect of the one all encompasing Divinity manifested in all of the universe--in you, in me, in my cat, in the trees, any everything. To eliminate this aspect of Divinity is to deny one's own part and parcel of the Divine.
By the way, I was raised in a liberal Chiristian religion, embrace Hinduism, and see nothing incompatible in this stance. Hinduism encoumpases all other religions since all are merely different names and forms of one Divinity. Yes, I know you probably won't agree with this, which is another glory of Hinduism; one can pick whichever one/ones of the facets as one's own personal devotions.
