yes I found the anc. The island has rose 65 feet in the last 63 years.I was there in 1946-1947. I've been in most of the caves, The Gen. cave , The hosp. cave and there is one about 600 feet from the Gen. cave that I went into with T/5 Walker and T/5 Willinghoff It was hotter the hell on the first level. We went on down to the 2nd level, hotter then the first level and the smell was bad. There were appro. 200 dead Marines there still had their dog tags. Since the island only rose 7 feet in the first 10 years, no one could go get them. THEY ARE STILL THERE. If any one wants to talk about this let me know.
