High blood sugar but normal insulin - what is this?

I am showing est results of high blood sugar (both fasting and after meal) but perfectly normal insulin.  What could this be

It could be a false reading caused by blood pressure medication.

How do you know your insulin level is ok? What are your symtoms?

Hi debbyellen

I have no symptoms at all - but having tested with high blood sugar my doctor ordered insulin tests - both fasting and 2hrs after a meal.  Both tests fall well within normal ranges.
