can a hiatal hernia be completely removed? will a hiatal hernia make you look nine months pregnant? I had a complete hysterectomy 2 years ago, I haven't gained weight but my stomach has swelled profusely and is always hard. I am 5'6" and only weigh 160(my idea weight). I have had to up my pants size form a 10 to a 14 just to accommodate my stomach. I constantly have heartburn, and I can take a small sip of water and then burp uncontrollably so loud that my son can hear down the hallway. It's emabarrassing! My OBGYN said it was possibly a hiatal hernia. I have trouble swallowing sometimes, and as soon as I take a drink or my first bite of food I suddenly feel sick and get pains near my sternum. I have resorted to wearing big baggy shirts to hide my protruding abdomen. Please help!!!
I recently went to a new doctor and noticed he was located in something called the Professional Building. I felt better right away.
The only person that can really help you is your doctor. He/she knows you best, and since you had a complete hysterectomy and have other medical conditions, my answer is go seek professional advice. Good luck.
