your brain is in orbit also.most people pay between 15.00/29.00 dollars a gallon for house paint now days of which the quality is far inferrior to the paints made 30 years ago(thats why that house you painted 30 years ago still has paint on it) dispite all the pretty colors and warrantys they offer they are they are not as durrable periord.as a pro painter you should know the color being applied dictates how many coats required,as does the method of appilaction(mop,brush,roller,airless sprayer,and on,and on...) location to environment,and type of environment also are very important factors too.Guess thats why every gallon of paint I bought says on the label "for maximum durrablity/coverage two coats are recommended" Time is money I guess thats why the charge 6 grand now days to skim coat a house and come back in 10yrs to sock you again!!
