Constipation is closely linked to a person's eating habits, and it is one of the most common causes of hemroids . This is so because constipation makes the stool hard and dry, thus rendering it difficult to pass.

You can tell that you are constipated if you take long to go to the toilet and if your bowel movements don't follow some kind of established pattern. Another characteristic of a constipated person is that he or she produces stool that is small in volume but usually hard and dry. This causes a lot of strain during bowel movement and can lead to the rupturing of the sphincter (anus opening) as well as scarring of the anal walls. If such a scenario goes on for a long time it may eventually result in a person developing hemroids.

It is therefore important that we take all the precautions necessary to avoid getting constipated in the first place, and we can do that by eating the right type of foods and having our meals at regular intervals. Foods with a high content of fibre are particularly recommended because they increase the volume of the stool, hence ensuring that a person gets regular bowel movements. Foods with high fibre content include the following: unprocessed beans, cereals, fruits and green vegetables.

99 % of the time you get hems from straining. Of course when you are constipated you push and strain to go to the bathroom. For about 1/2 of the population it goes hnd in hand. If you do not mind i have some suggestions to help with the constipation. Try perdium it is a stimulant laxative but it doesnt make u cramp and works over night.(dont get the generic-buy the brand.) do you have any GI PROBLEMS? U should get checked just to be on the safe side. There is also a new rx for chronic constipation. Amitizia-works good. It is expensive so if u do not have ins. Try the perdium first.

I hope this helps let me know
