Is Hemp milk a good replacement for regular milk?

Is hemp milk a good substitute for real milk for a one year old? My grandson is not allergic. Will he get the needed calcium from the hemp milk?

Children are God's gift to the world...

I'm not a fan of replacing a child's diet with hemp milk but I'd suggest speaking with your child's doctor about this.

How do I find the time?

My younger daughter was thought to be lactose intolerant when she was born so i was given lactose free milk formula but it still contained all the calcium she needed.  After she was 1, I started to re-introduce cows milk and she is now absolutely fine with it and has no intolerance to it.  Sometimes it is just that they have an immature digestive system that they grow out....

Soya milk is not good for babies - especially girls as it has too many hormones in it.  Rice Milk is popular in the States but not so much here in the UK and I cannot bear the smell!

Hope that helps!

Though its name might be a bit misleading, organic hemp milk is a perfectly legal, not to mention healthy and contains more nutrients than soy and cow's milk. It also tastes quite good and contains no allergens.

One 8-Ounce glass contains the following healthy nutrients:

  • 900mg Omega-3 Fatty Acid
  • 2800mg Omega-6 Fatty Acid
  • All 10 Essential Amino Acids
  • 4 grams of Digestible Protein
  • 46% of RDA of Calcium
  • 0% Cholesterol
  • Potassium
  • Phosphorous
  • Riboflavin
  • Vitamin A
  • Vitamin E
  • Vitamin B12
  • Folic Acid
  • Vitamin D
  • Magnesium
  • Iron
  • Zinc
  • And more…
