I underwent anesthesia to remove two wisdom tooths. I experienced pain for one day, However, the tooths were not removed in a hospital, they were removed in a dental office chair. I was only given 24 hours quarters, a term the military uses to signify one day of rest, of course.
Nonetheless, I experienced pain for one day. I did not have any swelling, but I could not eat solid foods. I sipped and slurped soup, and I had nothing cold for that day. I was given a few narcotics that helped to alleviate the pain at the onset. All in all, it was not a bad experience, and I was back to work after one day.
So I sincerely hope that you will stop worrying, but of course you will -- because I did too. But when it was all over, I felt so much better and realized that I worried in vain. I also hope that you will not have any swelling, considering that you are experiencing some swelling with your left bottom tooth. I suggest that when you see the doctor, right before surgery, ask him or her will you experience swelling or will the removal of the tooth(s) help to minimize that affect? My regards.
