Help with recipe

I had a friend that baked sweet potato pies and when she took them from the oven they would have a very very very thin crispy crust on the top she said all she did was mix the ingredients and pour into the crust and they came out that way do you know what she might have used to make this happen myrna

MyrnaKelly...You know I really like sweet potatoe pie, and must say...I don't know anything about what type of recipie your friend might have followed. Perhaps there was a few very thin layers of filo dough sheets cut to fit the top, (GUESSING ? ).could be a very thin layer of ground nuts of a sort...I to am very curious, when you find out, let me know O.K.? Thank you!
