Wow....be careful with migraines, Music...seriously. A 'migraine' itself is really only a sympton or result of another, generally more serious, condition. (i.e. meningitis, stroke, etc). However...there are those who are victims of horrid migraines as a result of allergies (try Claritin-D for a few days and see if the headache subsides), or even a simple trauma to their neck/spine from something as minor as a fender-bender accident, a wild roller coaster, etc. In any event, I really do think you should recommend that your mother get a CT scan, or at the very least see a specialist, if her insurance covers it.
That being said, there are some relatively effective remedies to prevent and treat migraine headaches. First as a prevention, consume foods and supplements high in essential fatty acids and reduce her intake of carbohydrates...those sweet 'Omega-3's' you always hear about.
