I have a 7 year old beagle/chow mix male who has become very destructive over the last two weeks when we leave the house for work and other outings. He has a bed, toys, food, water etc so he's not neglected. He wasn't crate trained as a pup and we've tried that approach but he gets too anxious and worked up in the crate he is covered in ropey saliva and druel that he needs a bath every time we get home, plus the bottom of the crate is full of saliva as well. I really love this dog and would hate to give him up but he has destroyed a recliner and a sleep sofa plus 3 rugs in the last week. I can't afford this destructive dog.
