Help... first Valentines day as newly weds

Is Valentines day more or less important when you're married?  How big of a deal should I make out of the holiday?  This will be my first V-day as a newly wed.  Any suggestions for what I should do for my beautiful wife?

I am your worst nightmare. An intelligent smart arse.

It is more important especially as newly weds. you need to go all out, card, flowers, chocolate, dinner and maybe even a movie. have fun!

Never give up on someone you can't go a day without thinking about.

I have to disagree with Riddler. I am also a newlywed and Valentine's Day has never been important to us. And I wouldn't trade the everyday love I get from my husband to have him make a big deal for only one day a year.

I think you should talk to her about it. Decide together on what is appropriate or not. If you two didn't do anything in the past than why start now. I am a woman that doesn't really care about vday. It's just another day for Hallmark to make money. Yes I do tend to get something small for my loved one but it is never big. I would rather order in chinese food and eat on the floor and drink wine than go out. I don't like to get big flowers bc they just die. I would rather have a single rose or tulip. :) If you want to go all out I would do dinner and a piece of jewelry. That's what I think would be a special day.

Show her how much you love her.  Bring her breakfast in bed.  Wash the dishes. Take out the garbage.  Do stuff for her - and bring her a bunch of flowers.

Are you kidding? V. Day is ABSOLUTELY important to your wife. Do you want her to think that now that you have slipped the ring on her finger all of the romance is gone? You can find everything you need to know about what to do on

Valentines Day.
