Help! Gaining weight suddenly with no changes in life style

why am i all of a sudden gaining weight? I am not doing anything different...  I am not eating anymore than usual, if anything I am  eating less. This just started about  2 weeks ago and I have been gaining a lb a day! I had a colonoscopy 2 weeks ago???

I am 41 and had a hysterectomy 4 years ago...H

Well, take this new information to the dr for sure. If you are consuming less than 1100 calories per day (taking your wt into consideration, too) your body may think it is starving and turning everything into fat stores. You didn't say what the colonoscopy was for or what it showed...an illness may cause these symptoms.

your hormones are out balance.look for a doctor that works with bio-identical hormones and has ability to treat thyroid if needed.

It may be related to your op and your body needing to recover so if this is the case, I would start doing walking every day for at least 20 minutes at the beginning which is relaxing but will also help to kick start your metabolism again. After a week, start to aim for 45 mnins and then 1 hour walking and increase your level of exercise to perhaps a jog in between walking. The more exercise your body gets used to, the faster it will respond. It is also worth checking with your doctor that you don't suffer from an under actyive thyroid (hypothyroidism) which can make your weight balloon despite what you eat. www.thyroidweight.com And start eating more - eating less just means that your body will hang on to the fat for fear that the next meal may not come quickly so eat well, eat small portions and eat regularly.
