Help I have 2 black thumbs that cannot grow anything

what plants grow in low light.  Also that puts off the most oxygen.

For I have Head & Neck Cancer,so the doctors said to use alot of plants

but floresent light is out of the question.  I have one bedroom window that lets in alot of light during the day or I can lessen the light whatever the need maybe.  I really have 2 black thumbs when it comes to growing things so the more hardy they are and the easiest ones will be the best for me.
