Help me with this please

Hi, Hey if you can help me with what to do . I have been in a relationship with a woman for 15 months. I love her with all of my heart . We have talked about a future together with her kids at my home . She was to move in with me , Guys I have gone to the extreme for them. She has told me to paint the colors of the inside of the home. I have bought the kids puppies for X-mas $$ I have given 5 pickup loads of my stuff to goodwill , I bought two really pretty diamond rings and asked her to marry me one day soon. She said of course and that she loved me . She said she would move this July well it's now August and now in the last few weeks the phone calls are no more ,I call her and leave nothing but voice messages is all I think I have just been played and now heart broken. I would like to know if there is a gay or lesbian law in Kentucky of some sort to help me to try to recover some of my loss here. I heard that there maybe one called( anticipation of long term contract of relationship.) Not thinking that this has really upset me mentally in which it has and caused me now some depression . Please if you can think of any outlets or know of any answers I truely thank -you. God bless

I think you should move on and write off your losses. It's a very painful experience. I hope you'll learn not to be too gullible next time. Get out of there and find someone who is honest and don't get involved too soon. Know the person well first. Take care.

Hollywood, you've asked a legal question and no reply has addressed that and the only suggestion I have is to contact an attorney. Regarding the paint, dogs and furniture give away, I don't know how you place a value on that however, when I read below I do have a different opinion;

"I bought two really pretty diamond rings and asked her to marry me one day soon. She said of course and that she loved me"

In spite of what you've gotten from Elden and DB, I read this as her accepting a marriage proposal and if the asnwer is yes you have every right to expect the return of these rings. Depending on the value, I suggest looking into a small claims court action to recover the rings. There is a small filing fee and there are no attorneys involved, you simply present your case, she presents her defense and a jugge or trial magistrate decides for or against. Call the court house or sherrifs office and someone there will direct you to the proper offfice to initiate action.

Several years ago I paid a contractor for work he did not perform, and I took him to small claims and got every penny plus 14% interest. If you would like more information fromme on this send a note back and I'll be glad to assist. I would not let those rings go uncontested.

Love is the battery of life....

Hi Hollywood,
You gave an emotional discription of one side of the coin.  I would love to hear what does she say (cause that is the key to understand the whole case).  All the answers ignored that basic point.  It is clear that she loved you too but at a certain point it changed.  Can you guess why ?  If she has a good convincing explanation you can do nothing (it's her right to change her mind and refuse to marry you [if she has a good reason for it]).  You painted the house, bought the puppies from your own good will (no one forced you to do it).  As per the rings: B4 going to court you should ask them (officially) back (she might return it to you without problems).......  Only if she refuses you might have a case (not 100% guaranteed).
Best regards.

Best regards,
