How Helen Keller learned language

I'm reading a book by Helen Keller and can't figure out how she learned such a large vocabulary and the structure of language. I don't know how she could learn words such as 'remarkable', wouldn't, modern, raises awareness, inspires, motivates, whatever, dreams, etc.  I understand that she had words spelled to her by hand and she read lips by touch but how could you explain the words I mentioned before?

Love is the battery of life....

Hi,
One doesn't need to see in order to understand the meaning of the words you mentioned.  Take "remarkable" as an example: It shouldn't be too hard to give a blind person several examples what it means:  Give 3-4 examples of remarkable persons: Mahatma Gandhi,  M.L. King, J.F. Kennedy, mother Teressa.... and explain why did they all were so remarkable..... Now explain that remarkable can be also in other ways: e.g: appearance, in words, size, beauty, hight, weight, colour, number...... etc.....
Best regards,
