Hi Krysta,

I would think that if your boyfriend has joint custody of his child with his ex, then he would need to give his ex permission to take their daughter out of the country. Also, if his ex has not been following through with the conditions of their joint custody, your boyfriend should let the courts know.

Krysta, there is no way that she can go back to court to change the agreements if your boyfriend has not done anything wrong. The courts have ruled the way that they have for a reason. Your boyfriend needs to give permission for his ex to take his daughter anywhere and that means that she definitely cannot take her to Germany. It sounds like his ex is still going to try and make this messy, so be ready for what is to come. However, your boyfriend must stand his ground and be prepared. I would suggest getting in contact with a lawyer soon to make sure he will be handling the situation to come in the right way.
