Health question, please help

I am a 42 yr old female. Am a vegetarian, and for the past week my chest has been feeling "tired". Like my heart "flutters", and like my blood pressure is low. A few days ago, I felt like i was going to "black out". And last night i felt like i was having a panic attack. What could this be?

I think I would go to the Dr. and maybe ask for some blood work be done. Do you get enough potassium in your diet? Have you been under a lot of stress? I would go to the doctor to be on the safe side. My sister has a problem with her heart and it was her potassium level, it was too low. My best advice is go to the doctor.

I don't know if my potassium is low.  But, I have been under an extreme amount of stress lately.

Thank you for your advise, Baysard1

Vegetarians get Vitamin B12 deficiency because it is only found in animal protein. Getting a blood test for your levels is the only way to find out. Also fatigue is the hallmark of approaching menopause. Get a serum FSH to find out if you are near the "change".

2 thumbs up

The first step is to see your doctor.  He should do blood and urine tests to see if anything jumps out at him.  Remind him that you are a vegetarian and that you have been under a lot of stress lately.  Make a list of concerns.  You might even note that "heart seems to flutter at night when I'm stressed with the kids."  What was your activity?  Time of day.  Food journal.  The better your information, the better your doctor can help you.
